My way here.. Now where shall we begin?
I guess I could start with the first encounter I can remember, with a little program called 3D MAX R4. I was at a friend of a friends house, and we sat there gaming Call of duty I think. Simly amazed by the awsome graphics, and the realistic portrail of the D-Day invasion. Dont remember why, but sometime later this guy pulls up a program called 3D Max, which I had never seen before.
I knew of the existence of 3D applications before this, as I had played around in the program Caligari TrueSpace, 2.5 actually, a lot before this.
But this new program intrigued me so much. This guy sat there and easily created cool stuff as we others watched amazed at what he could do. I wanted to do those things myself. So I got a copy of this program, and tried for myself. But to no avail. Lemmie tell you, this program was to me as alien as I felt Zbrush was compared to MAX when that came.
So, for many more years, I kept playing around with TrueSpace a few versions, purely out of my interest for 3D stuff. That was until the arrival of 3D Studio MAX 7 or 8. First now I sat down and tried getting this application. I belive there was even more buttons and stuff around in the UI on these versions. And having no real technical terms and training to support myself on, I tried my best but failed in the true knowhows and secrets of this wonderfull program.
As time passes, I still keep playing around, but my main Interest is drawing, which it allways has been and will be I think. But I wanted to be able to make my drawings into 3D. And so, I became a member of a modgroup for the game Battlefield 2, called Northern Conflict. With little knowledge still, I made my first "real" and rather good model, the CV9030 Norwegian light armour, continuing on with the Swedish and Danish versions. I was rather pleased with these, and still am, but they never really got any decent textures. Much due to my lack of UVW mapping skills at the time. (But dont worry, sometime soon the CV90 shall rise from the ashes... Reborn like you've never seen before)
But I digress, moving on. I guess we are moving into present time now, as I figured I had to do something about this 3D itch i got.. I was bitten by the bug long ago, so this illness has had a long time to set root XD
So by version 9/09 of Max, by utter freak coincidence and pure luck, I got accepted to Noroff Oslo, 3D, Design and Animation! Dumbfounded and open mouthed I got a call saying I got accepted, allmost a week into the first semester.
I was happy.
So now here I am, one year later, one year wiser. And I must say, the decision to choose Noroff, to be able to do what I do, use my creativity, expand my horizons in the ways of art, BEST... DECSISION... EVER...!
The amazing classmates and teachers exponentially expands your ways of thinking and your creative insight.
There you have it, a brief summary of my may here.
Now there is only the future
And the future looks brighter by each day
