Project Summary
And at last we arrive to Project 04, the Full Body lip-sync assignment, last of the Digital Acting module. This turned out to be a close call, and I dont feel entirely happy about the final work, but deadline is deadline.

Project Text
"Project 4
Complete a full-body character animation and lip-sync using one sound file.
Criteria 1. Find and choose your own sound file for use in Project 4.
Only one sound file can be used in this assignment.
2. The full-body of the character - and the lip-sync - must be visible at all times within the frame of the render.
No scene props to be added in the final render, but character may hold a prop.
3. Deliver the following files on 2 x DVDs (where 1 DVD is an exact copy of the other):
1 x max file - the final max file from your animated production.
1 x render - you decide on a presentable render output.
Production files - any supporting files that represent production.
1 x Notepad - contains URL(s) of your Project 4 journal post(s).
Everything needs a good naming convention. For example, so that another person (an extern sensor) can easily see WHO made the file and WHAT the content of that file is!
4. Create a detailed post on your reflective journal (using screen-captures and text)

Getting started
This is gonna be short and simple. I once again ventured to the realm of DailyWav.com, to grab me a clip. After a bit of searching I found a funny little clip.
I then had to chose what rig to use, and after a bit of thinkin, I went for the Lomax rig, once again. Simply because it works a bit better than the Driver rig I used for the Lip-Sync assignment, bodymovement-wise that is.
Due to my ass beeing slow, I started a bit late on this one, and as the deadline approches, I had to go with what I have.

There is really no real planning in this animation, mostly due to the said time-constraint. But then again, I dont really do much planning anyway. Purely go straight ahead, block it out, and refine it. I dont really know what else to say :P
I wanted it to be a funny little thing, short and sweet.

Rig/Audio
I chose the clip because I found it funny, and I could picture many different situations as to how it could be applied, none of which apparently made it to the final cut.. I found it hard to acctually do the animation, figuring out exactly what he should do, but ahh well, done is done now. Moving on.
Choise of rig was a tougher one indeed. Should I go for the Driver with excellent lipsync features, or the lowmax, wich is better for the bodyanimation. In the end i settled for the Lowmax, and I think that was the right choise for this assignment.

Selfcritique
We are to selfcritique ourselfs, and compare our own animations with our fellow classmates, but seeing as I have yet to see any of them, that falls a bit short.
But looking back on the animation, I see so many flaws, and room for improvement. One of those flaws is that I have a tendency to do things fast, or rather, make things go a bit fast :P No pauses. I need to adress that problem.
Dunno why, but its a trademark of most my animations.

The End
I am so tired right now, therefore I call it done at this point. My writing is growing steadily more flawed with typos, and I need to deliver this before I collapse face down into the keyboard! ^^
End point: Animate more. Animate more. Animate more.
