Let teh drawzoring beginz
Time to show off some character concepts, and how the final one was chosen.
Early on I had a pretty good idea of where to go, based on all our discussions so far in the process and ofcourse my own thoughts on how I might want it to look.
Youve seen the early concepts, and though very cool in its own respect, I had doubts wheter or not it would work in the third dimension. So I sat down and drew some more, coming up with some more different choises for the design of the girl-character.

First one here was a quick one I drew on the train-ride to school. It did not turn out too good though, imo.
Second is one made for the sake of trying out some different style of clothing, I kinda like that style, but that idea was discarded as we all liked the thought of having the nightgown sort of flow a bit in the wind.
Third here, is a Zbrush concept. Rather than trying to see how a character would look in a 2D environment, I chose to see if I could get a better feel by using the AWSUM power of Zbrush. Since you can view the character there in all three dimensions, its easier to know if it would work in a 3D film.
Not to mention that this also helped in the creation of the final 3D mesh, as one can use the Polyboost functions in Max 10, to create a basemesh quickly by "drawing" on top of a high poly mesh. Saving time, as meshbuilding can get quite timeconsuming.

This one here is a little drawing I feel turned out quite nice, and gave my team-members some more choises in regards to the visual style of the character. Should it be more realistic, or should we go for something more stylistic and cartoony and weird. It also was the final drawing I did for the char-concepts. Now it was decision time!
When push comes to shove...
Number 1 here was the first in the line of these drawings, and was my favorite for quite some time, until...
...this one. I feel this character has a lot more personality, and feel, than the rest. And it seemed to me as the best choise to go for.
And so we did ^^
